Chapter 1. Get set up · Step 2 of 15
Upload the contract and your bid
The GC's subcontract arrives. You open the portal and give Redline up to three documents: the contract, your own proposal, and the prime contract if you have it. Only the first is required. Each one you add unlocks another layer of the review.
Two doors, one review
Start with the contract, or start with the form
Most people start with the contract: drop the PDF in and Redline reads it first, then asks only what the document couldn't answer. People who like to think through the job first can answer the intake form and upload at the end; Redline then shows where the contract disagrees with what they said.
Same engine, same protections, either way. Try the screen on the right: it is the one in the portal.
How do you want to start?
Two doors, one review: the same engine, the same protections, whichever way in fits how you work today.
Either way you can switch mid-flow, and both doors run the exact same review.
What goes in
Three documents, and what each one adds
The subcontract
RequiredHarbor Point Medical Office: Subcontract (fictional).pdf
Every clause read against your standards, your rules, your insurance and the law where the project sits.
Your proposal or estimate
RecommendedCopperline Flooring proposal (fictional).pdf
The comparison that matters most: what you priced and excluded against what the contract makes you do. Without it, that layer stays silent rather than guess.
The prime contract
If you have itNot attached in this sample
What the owner's contract flows down to you. If the subcontract incorporates a prime you weren't given, Redline flags it and drafts the request.
